Like scrapbooking but don’t have the time to do it? I love this idea from Martha Stewart (whose talent for creativity and classiness is usually intimidating)!
Create a childhood keepsake by taking a photo of your child each year on her birthday, and make sure something in the photo says how old she is. Create a scrapbook just for these pictures – add a new one every year – and since you’re only doing one photo a year, you can decorate each page, one at a time, and not feel overwhelmed.
I already do a version of this with my Little Miss; every month since she was one month old we’ve taken her photo next to the same large teddy bear with a sign that says how many months old she is. When she hits 24 months I think we’ll stop the monthly thing and go to yearly, or maybe every six months. It’s fun to flip through the pictures in succession and see how much she’s changed over even just the last few weeks.
